What’s the “Timezone” in my store settings

The “Timezone” you see under your Store connection is the timezone we use when posting your scheduled content.

Your Around.io timezone is set to your local timezone by default when you signup. You can change this later.

For example, if you live in New York and you sign up for Around.io from New York, your timezone will be set to Eastern Standard Time.

How does “Timezone” help?

Sometimes, your target market (your social followers) might be from a country different from the one you live in.

On social media, timing is everything. When you post to social media makes a big difference in how many people see, interact and click on your posts.

If you’re in Europe but your target market is predominantly in the U.S, you might want to post in U.S timezones.

For example, suppose you live in France but you want to schedule a post for 9.00 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST, New York). You don’t have to do hard calculations. Pick the right timezone (Eastern) from Store Settings and schedule times for all your posts will be in that timezone. This way, you can pick EST as your timezone and schedule a post for 9.00 PM. It will be posted at 9.00 PM EST.

How to change the timezone for my account?

To change the timezone for your account:

  1. Click on Settings from the menu
  2. Click on “Settings” for the store you want to change/set a timezone

  3. Scroll down to the bottom and click on “Change timezone”

  4. Pick your new timezone from the dropdown
  5. Click on “Save” to set this new timezone as your default
